Taclight lantern is as bright as advertised. It takes three AA batteries which are not included. The batteries are installed by unscrewing the bottom. The polarity of battery placement is clearly marked. The bottom of the lantern unscrews easily and screws back on easily. The lantern is mainly a sturdy plastic. It has two handles. The top of the lantern goes up and down to control the amount of light. The amount of light is extremely bright and will cause you to are spots if you look directly into it. Taclight flashlight is made mainly of metal. It takes three AAA batteries which are not included. Batteries go in the bottom by unscrewing it. A cylinder comes out and the batteries are inserted into it. The battery polarity is clearly marked. Button on the end will turn the flashlight on. There are five modes on it. High, medium, low, strobe and SOS. There is a zoom in and a zoom out feature. I really like the lantern. The flashlight is ok. I don’t think I would ever use the features that it has on it. The features are hard to figure out. For the money, it is a good combo. I will be leaving this in my car.
